It's Sandal Season!

Nothing says Summer Time than the perfect flat sandal! They pair well with all of our summer favorites. Dresses, shorts, jeans, and rompers are all a go! The next great part is you can dress em up or down! Whatever suits your Glam little fancy! J

So now that you have de-fuzzed those toes, it’s time to show them off! Here are the flat sandals I am currently loving!

2. A Cheap Thrill is the best sometimes! Floral is right on trend this season. This pair from Payless for just under 25 bucks is def a thrill!

3. Feathers, animal prints, beads! You name it and it might be on this sandal and I am loving it all! A great statement flat.

 

4. Probably my favorite sandal this summer. I love every strap on this one! I already have them in Cognac and I am soooo tempted to scoop up the other great colors!

"Too Groovy" for Customer Service?

Glam-ettes, it is certainly rare that I speak negatively of any salon but my experience at the popular Too Groovy Salon in Haute-lanta this past Friday has been weighing heavy on my heart. *Sigh* It reminded me of how important our “Glam Squad” really is. I made an appointment at Too Groovy after my number one hair stylist had a slight emergency and needed to cancel our weekly appointment. I was in a hair bind ladies and decided to step out on faith!  

I arrived 20 minutes early for my appointment and decided that I would be a nice patron and remove my clip-ins and my three little braids myself since I quickly realized that the salon was very limited in styling options (Everyone that walked out looked the exact same! Think Stepford Wives!).  Also, I didn’t want to subject the Shampoo Technician to any extra work. I politely approached the young lady at the front desk to explain my “clip-in situation” and to ask for a comb to take my braids out. The young lady looked at me with a straight face and replied “I’m sorry I don’t have a comb.” Umm, Excuse me? Did I come to a pizza parlor to get my hair done? No combs? Ok!

Needless, to say Glam Girls my experience went downhill from there! I was introduced to my stylist for the evening that looked at me and my hair with pure disgust. She complained throughout my entire service about the extra time she had to take de-tangling my natural hair. Confused again! This is a hair salon right? But her de-tangling process was what put the last nail in the coffin! She thought it would be a good idea to slather conditioner onto my dry hair and yank until she was satisfied that it was detangled. #fail.

At $55 for a shampoo and style, and $20 for any additional service, I think that all Glam Girls in the city can spend their hard earned bucks at a salon that is dedicated to doing hair with excellent customer service and a smile.  It seems the staff at Too Groovy is a tad “Too Groovy” to put clients first. No Bueno!

Glam Tip of the Day! De-Fuzz Those Toes!

It’s sandal season Glam Girls and it’s time to show those tootsies! No pedicure is complete without removing those pesky toe hairs! I have found the perfect little tool to help us with our quest for hair-free toes! LOL!

After trying to get the job done with my regular razor only to end up with mutilated toes, I figured it was time to try a different approach. Duh! A smaller razor! LOL! I’m loving Noxema Bikini Shavers! They are the perfect size for the job and will ensure that we step out with 100% GLAM tootsies! What's even better Glam Girls? My 'Dirty 30' Glam List!

In 30 days Glam-ettes I will say good-bye to my twenties as I turn the big 3-0! Yowsas! I will admit the feeling is quite scary but I decided to try to have some fun with it.

Miracle Product Alert! Carol's Daughter Monoi Hair Repairing Mask!

I admit Glam Girls that I am not the traditional Naturalista. I prefer to rock my natural hair straight and I do sport clip-ins quite often.
