How Will You Nail It?

Glam Girls How Will You Nail It? Let's continue our Nail Talk to find out!

Artificial Nail Enhancements

There are two very popular options if you decide to take this route! The great thing about nail enhancements is that you don’t have to worry too much about chipping and peeling even after doing the dishes. LOL.

Acrylic is the strongest form of nail enhancement out there. Beware Glam-ettes ‘strong’ means that it is also the least healthy option for your nails. If you decide to go Au Naturel in the future, it will be a long road ahead.

Gel Nails are a healthier artificial nail alternative to Acrylic Nails. Gel is more natural looking than Acrylic and what Glam Girl doesn’t crave natural looking nails?! Gel nails also provide more nail flexibilty. The downside to this type of enhancement is the time consuming nature of the process. Each Nail must be dried under a UV Lamp for minutes at a time to achieve optimal results! Sheesh!

Au Naturel

This is the current state of my own nails and I’m loving it! No chemicals! No Looooong “Fill-in Sessions” and of course healthy, strong nails! Glam-ettes let me tell you though that the transition from artificial to natural nails was a toughie! Post acrylic, my nails were brittle and weak. The state of my nails was so bad that my first few ‘Natural’ manicures were nothing short of a disaster! Chipped nail polish everywhere! Ugh!

The right base coat and top coat is like a jewel for us Au Naturel Glam Girls. I suggest CND ‘Stickey’ Base Coat and Seche Vite Fast Drying Topcoat. If you have just started your natural nail journey, don’t give up! Healthy nails are right around the corner! Trust me!

Gel Nail Polish

This is also known as “The Chipless Manicure” at some nail salons. Gel Nail Polish is an excellent way to make the transition from artificial enhancements to sporting your natural nails.

The gel nail polish is formulated to glide on like regular polish but is cured under UV Light which means zero chips for you! Love it! Nails usually stay flawless up to two weeks which is another great plus!

Though this process is also time consuming, it may be your best bet if your ultimate goal is healthy natural nails!
